Molecule on the right hand has the same composition with the left hand, but the actual chemicals that are in both have a different nature.
Because of the many criticisms of the particular molecule duplicate, Physics expert Thom Germer with the team that duplicates the molecule can be used as a tool to detect them.
"You do not want to limit myself to find out specific materials such as oxygen is used in the creation of the earth, as it will rise to assumptions about what life is. However, amino acid content, sugar and certain DNA is owned by every living creature," said the Germer quoted from the Times of India, on Wednesday (29/4/2009).
Many molecules that are not berasosiasi with signs of life. However, when an organism memproduksinya, their offspring will have the same molecular duplicate of the same with their parents.
Because the molecular instructions that reflect duplicate duplicate molecular mengidikasikan living creatures, the research team designed a device that can analyze the bacteria and plants. Then detect the reflection polarization of these organisms. This method is also used to medeteksi alien. (srn)

KOMPAS.com - When ten years ago, people are proud when you have small-sized mobile phone that can render simple ringtone and game in a simple black screen white. At that time, the phone actually work as a means of communication, ie mobile phones.
In the five years later, the phone is a great demand, which has excellent facilities, such as MMS, camera, music songs, and video recorder. In addition to communication, many users utilize ponselnya to play and as a means of entertainment.
Now the trend is changing again. However, pergerakannya thus restore the mobile phone into a tool of communication. Only, far more sophisticated capabilities remain equipped with entertainment facilities. When used simply bertelepon and send SMS via mobile phone now, people can send e-mail, chat messenger using the facilities, to send voice, and even exploring the virtual world in a way that's extraordinary.
Yes, the era of mobile phones now have the ability to do the communication and has the latest facilities in the past can only be done by secret agent 007, James Bond, for example, determines the completeness of the location (GPS) and maps. One of the key communication skills are excellent facilities on the internet phone.
"Currently people use the Internet to communicate. And many mobile phone users have an internet connection in ponselnya. That is a trend that will be the future of mobile phones," said Tom Furlong, Vice President and General Manager Consumer Messaging Services at Nokia, in a telephone interview, Friday (18 / 4).
Not surprisingly, when this is the ability of the internet and then adopted by many, many gadgets such as Blackberry, iPhone, and Nokia. Mobile phone without an internet connection to be a lag time of goods. This is not separated from the trends of communication at this time when people touch each other through messenger and social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, or Friendster.
The trend is what makes the Nokia developed a service that allows someone to login once using a single account to log into various social networks and messenger services. "We see that the ability to login once to go to various social networks more likely than fenomenal opening Facebook and Twitter go with each sign," said Furlong.
This is possible thanks to the system once logged in to multiple e-mail account, where, with the Nokia messeging, can someone summarize the multiple own e-mail in one address only. "So we will be able to enter social networking without having to login to a certain social network sites," he added.

KOMPAS.com - lessening the era of newspapers in various parts of the world has many diwacanakan, among others, by lessening the ad revenue and the number of subscribers, especially from the young. Can not be denied that the younger generation that is also known as the Digital Generation, or Generation C preferred equipment (gadgets) for information.
The transition era or this era of new, different opinions still compete each other strong, still believe that between akan viability of newspapers and the media believe that the once very influential this one day will be extinct.
These days, major media figures such as Rupert Murdoch is in great hesitation. Flare shortly before the recession, Murdoch buying Dow Jones publishes the newspaper The Wall Street Journal is worth 5 billion U.S. dollars (about Rp 60 trillion). That's because Murdoch is known as a figure who has a strong viscosity of the newspaper (although it is also recognized as a multimedia mogul century-21). But, now when newspapers go down worst since the Depression (the Great in 1930-an), media analyst at Miller Tabak, David Joyce, was hearing from investors that News Corp (Murdoch owned media konglomerasi) may whatever, except newspapers ( IHT, 24 / 2).
Challenges to the print media is really great. Compare people, why the media is not setahan TV, for example. In fact, when people are spending more time in front of the internet, or also in the video screen, not a few of them still stand in front of the TV screen. Unfortunately, in between the screen-display, and print media in the left rear (Print media losing in a world of screens, IHT, 9 / 2).
Various ideas and efforts have been dilontarkan to save newspapers. One problem when we realize that newspapers are still expected to continue to be the source of profits is that there will be a difficult wind. This description appears even when the online version is very influential newspaper such as The New York Times have been very advanced, with 20 million unique users. The revenue from online is able to support only 20 percent of the needs of staff.
Facing a deficit, the proposed recruitment funds have eternal (endowment) institutions for the print media so that they terbebaskan business model of rigor, and with the print media still have a permanent place in the community as college and university. (See the view of David Swensen, Chief Investment Officer at Yale, and Michael Schmidt, a financial analyst, at the IHT, 31/1-1/2.)
Support technology
Before this, one of the many ideas presented in print media for the release of new media siege is to move toward multimedia news so that not only was distributed to newspapers, but also for other media, from radio, TV, to internet and mobile / cellular. This is consistent with the new reality, where the search is from the news media noncetak users and new media. Understand also go from the readers (readership) to the audience. (This on the one hand, the manager will also be exempt from the newspaper's circulation to increase the pressure the more difficult.)
In this regard, also appeared a number of initiatives that are expected to maintain the existence of newspapers. Between the two technology initiatives that dimajukan to grow, and along with it can help newspapers, is iNews (your device via the Internet) and e-book (electronic book).
iNews
Before this, one of the business model for the music industry is through what the Apple online music store with its famous, iTunes, a year ago to sell 2.4 billion tracks (songs).
Provided by Apple yesterday is a user interface that is easy to use and broad cooperation with the music companies. Thus, the petinggi Apple, Steve Jobs, can help business (industrial music), which nearly collapse due to exchange activity maraknya track (file sharing). Indeed, Apple is charged with the brand of stunt. However, there is still a good idea because the music companies toh dikerdilkan yesteryear is still alive until now.
Management business newspaper can doubt that Apple could do the same for them. Also do the same, convincing millions of readers who are interested, get this for a news site for free through the newspaper-as-kompas.com to pay.
This option is indeed appear more intended to save the institution of the press because, when revenues slump, which threatened not only the company that has a newspaper, but also news that dihasilkannya (David Carr, Could an iNews rescue papers, IHT, 13 / 1)
The idea also help find a number of other media because clearly "not a free model (business)". Cook's Illustrated recipes that have a myriad of dilanggan by 900,000 people and ecerannya reached 100,000. In addition, the company has 260,000 online customers who pay 35 U.S. dollars per year. Growth reached 30 percent in 2008.
Beyond that, must be recognized, understand free still dominant in the virtual world. The piawai of Apple, who can coax a gadget-buyers want to pay for his music purchased. Jobs see music as a business software to drive the iPhone and iPod sales. Music business is not entirely happy with it, but evidently can coax listeners pay content (songs) for levying.
With the natural thought this also thought that the gadget can also be applied to newspapers. For example, the iPod touch will be released fall of this year, with screen sizes 18 to 23 cm.
To e-book is another strategy. Amazon, which is before the tool has created electronic book reader called Kindle, this has not been long said that in addition to the Kindle, electronic books can also be read with the smart-phone. Plastic Logic, the e-reader tool others, now has approval to make a number of magazines and newspapers (The Economist, 14-20/2).
Similar scenario as described above for iNews-ie between the pembundelan marketing tool and content (content) is expected to be applied-for equipment of this e-book. Thus, although the newspaper existed in traditional retrospective, institution expected to remain sustainable.
